Pax Prime 2012 Diablo 3 Wizard Cosplay Draft #1

Spend most of Saturday working cutting out all the muslin and mock up pieces of my projects.

The pattern making aspect of my costume is very complicated. Even though the shape is familiar, due to my Chinese background; the reference picture is extremely stylized. As it should be. Scaling it to my body shape and height is more of an art form than a science. I also need to fill in the blanks of where the seams are at as well as the back view. I also made effort to contact the artist Glowie to see if he had developed a back view of the costume. But I didn't hear back. I did some research on it and pressed forward on making the pattern.

The pattern pieces are:

Back body Cut 1 on fold - red brocade
Front body cut 2 - red brocade
Back collar cut 1 on fold - black brocade + gold accent  + stiff substrate (unknown)
Front collar cut 2  - black brocade + gold accent  + stiff substrate (unknown)
Back under collar cut 2 -  gold fabric + stiff substrate (unknown)
Front under collar cut 2  - gold fabric + stiff substrate (unknown)
Front Sleeve body insert Cut 2 - Red silk
Back Sleeve body insert Cut 2 - Red silk
Sleeve Cut 2 on fold - Red silk
Sleeve insert cut 4 - White silk
Waist belt - black brocade + stiff substrate (unknown)

Center Front and Center Back skirt panel (same pattern) Cut 2 on fold - Red Silk
Side front, Side Back skirt panel Cut 4 - red silk
Side Skirt gusset Cut 2 on fold - red Silk
Side front, Side Back skirt panel insert Cut 4 - White silk

In respect to my other project and Customer's privacy, I will only be showing progress of my own cosplay. But My Pre Pax Prime 2012 project list is filled to the rim. Its going to be an awesome convention!
